Assignment 2

In this course I expect to do more writing and reading than in high school.  This course will "invite them to develop more complicated composing strategies for responding to their own and others' concerns."  I will need to understand the readings and  interpret it using various of specific examples from the texts to support my idea of the stories we will read in class.  By the end of this semester, I expect to be able to write good constructed papers with the help that I get and with the time I give.  The Student Guide has encouraged me to adapt for the upcoming given work. It will not be easy and quick, it is going to take time. There will be help offered to improve my writings and to ask questions. This course is to help me understand the fun in writing, but at the same time to understand the coursework. Before I came to class, upperclassmen did say “you will be writing a lot in that class, prepare to work hard and write, write, write!” So it is true, this course will come down to all the work I completed.  At the end of the semester my portfolio is to be graded to see if I pass.
The most concerning thing for me is the no excused absences.  This is a concern because I tend to get sick a lot in the winter!  I mean it's unfair because being sick is not something that can be cured right away.  Although I do understand the policy very well.  After reading the Student Guide, the policies are clear and everything that I do in this class will be a plus plus for my future.

  1. I appreciate that you closely read the Student Guide. The upperclassmen you talked to were right—you will be writing a lot for this class. But by the end of the semester you’ll be amazed at how much the practice helps.

The absence policy is scary for someone who gets sick a lot. Hopefully it isn’t something we will have to worry about—here’s to your good health!
